Professor Denis O’Mahony

Additional Role: Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to Cork University Hospital and St. Finbarr's Hospital, Cork.

Current Academic Duties:

* Co-ordinator, SENATOR project (FP7-funded in 2012; grant # 305930)

* Co-ordinator of UCC Dept. of Medicine postgraduate research programme in pharmacotherapy optimisation in older people (in collaboration with the UCC School of Pharmacy). Supervision of the research programme in Geriatric Pharmacotherapy (involving specialist and non-specialist registrars in Geriatric Medicine in CUH and clinical pharmacists in the UCC School of Pharmacy undertaking PhD studies)

* Research Co-PI, OPERAM project (Horizon 2020-funded in 2015)

* Organisation and delivery of undergraduate ward-based clinical teaching in Geriatric Medicine in the UCC Medical School as part of the CP5002 module.

* Lecturing to 4th and final year medical students on Geriatric Medicine and Therapeutics.

* Lecturing to 4th year dental students on Internal Medicine.

* Teaching of pre-registration intern doctors and doctors preparing for the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) membership examination.
