Professor Barry Plant

Consultant Respiratory Physician at Cork University Hospital (CUH) since 2007.
Graduate: National University of Ireland, Prof. Plant received his medical degree MB BCH BAO, BMedSc (Hons) from University College Cork Medical School.

Dual trained in Respiratory & General Medicine and completed a higher medical degree (M.D. by Thesis) in inflammatory lung disease with an emphasis on COPD, CF and Sarcoidosis. Subsequently, undertook a Fellowship In Pulmonary and Critical Medicine at University of Washington, Seattle, until 2007.

COPD, Smoking cessation, Asthma, Exercise Induced Asthma, Bronchiectasis & Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Fibrosis/Sarcoidosis, Orphan Lung diseases, Sleep disordered breathing and Obstructive sleep apnea.
