Mr Noel Lynch is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Cork University Hospitals Group.
He is based at Cork Univesity Hospital and provides day services such as endoscopy in Bantry and Mallow General Hospitals. He has special interest in all aspects of general and colorectal surgery and has quickly established a high-volume practice in managing colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse and anorectal conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulae. He provides rapid direct access for endoscopy including gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, proctoscopy and colonoscopy. He also specialises in laparoscopic/minimally invasive hernia and gallbladder surgery and has expertise in managing complex abdominal wall repairs/reconstructions.
Noel is an honours medical graduate of University College Cork. After higher surgical training in general surgery in Ireland, he was the Karl Stortz Colorectal Fellow in Swansea Bay Hospitals, Wales, where he focused on advanced minimally invasive surgery and advanced pelvic oncology cases such as recurrent cancers requiring pelvic exenterations and Complex abdominal wall reconstructions. During his training he also achieved a Masters of Surgery and a higher diploma in Healthcare Management. He was appointed to the Cork University Hospitals Group in 2022.
He is widely published in the per review literature with areas of special interest including colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery and medical education.
