Mr Mahmoud Kamel graduated with honours MBBS in 1994.
He undertook training in the National Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Dublin, then Cork and Belfast. During his training he completed a Master degree in Surgery. He also gained his doctorate of Neurosurgery in 2002.
Mr Kamel completed fellowship in skull base surgery under world renowned Prof Al-Mefty in USA in 2008. He was appointed as NHS Consultant Neurosurgeon in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in University of Aberdeen in July 2008.
Mr Kamel was Clinical Lead of Department of Neurosurgery in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary prior to his appointment as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal surgeon in Cork University Hospital. Mr Kamel has experience in spinal disorders and brain tumour surgery including minimally invasive techniques.
