Dr Ioana Maris

Dr Ioana Maris graduated from University of Medicine and Pharmacy 'Victor Babes' Timisoara, Romania in 1995. She completed a PhD in Paediatric Nephrology in 2009, focused on the epidemiology of renal disease in children, while working as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist in a Tertiary University Hospital.

After moving to Ireland, she was the recipient of a Fellowship Award from the National Children's Research Centre, Dublin, in 2013, for the project 'A Prospective Study of the Incidence of Anaphylaxis in Irish Children', and she completed her Medical Doctorate in 2017.

Ioana works as a Consultant Paediatric Allergist/Clinical Senior Lecturer in Bon Secours Hospital, Cork/Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, UCC. Her special interests include: Epidemiology, Management and Awareness of Paediatric Anaphylaxis, Allergen Immunotherapy.
